OEM & private label drive systems

SPAT® as your development partner in the background – your brand in the spotlight.

SPAT® as your development partner in the background – your brand in the spotlight.

Many of our drive systems leave the company without the SPAT® logo, but under the name of our customers. As an OEM partner, we supply complete drive systems that integrate seamlessly into your machines, your type system and your brand appearance.

The basis is the SPAT MDS platform (Modular Drive System): standardised motors, gearboxes, encoders and controllers that we combine and adapt for your specific application. This results in customised OEM drive systems that go into series production under your part number and label – developed, manufactured and tested by SPAT®.

OEM drive systems that fit into your world

An OEM drive is more than a motor with a different nameplate. The key is that the solution fits into your environment technically and organisationally:

  • Mechanics & electrics
Adaptation of flange patterns, shafts, connectors, cable lengths, voltage ranges and protection classes to suit your machine.

  • Interfaces & software
Drives with defined fieldbus interfaces, parameter sets, profiles and diagnostics according to your specifications.

  • Labelling & documentation
Nameplates, part numbers, packaging and documentation in your corporate layout – including test reports and full traceability.

In this way, the SPAT® drive system becomes an integrated part of your portfolio – visible to your customers as „your“ component, backed by our drive technology expertise.

Long-term availability and 1:1 replacement solutions

Series machines often have a much longer lifetime than individual components on the market. As an OEM partner, we therefore think in terms of life cycles:

  • Long-term supply of defined variants with clear revision levels

  • Redesigns and successor variants when components are discontinued on the market

  • 1:1 replacement of obsolete components, where mechanics, electrical interfaces and behaviour are kept so that no changes to your machine hardware or software are required

Based on the SPAT MDS platform, we can derive compatible successor solutions even years later – with the same interfaces, improved efficiency and modern electronics. Your machines remain in the market while your customers can continue to use their familiar drive.

Your benefits with SPAT® as OEM partner

Your brand in the spotlight

Drive systems with your logo, your part number and your documentation – SPAT® works in the background, your brand is visible to the market.

Platform instead of one-off development

OEM solutions are based on the SPAT MDS platform. This reduces development effort, shortens time-to-market and allows variants without a complete redesign.

Deep drive technology expertise

Over 35 years of experience in electric drive systems – from sizing and thermal design through to EMC-compliant integration into your machine.

Decentralised, compact drive systems

Motor, gearbox, encoder, electronics and holding brake combined in a single

Quality, testing and traceability

Documented test procedures, series test reports and clear serial number logic – aligned with your quality and audit requirements if needed.

Confidential, partnership-based cooperation

Discreet OEM cooperation with clear responsibilities, optional NDAs and technical support from concept phase to series production.

Typical OEM application scenarios

Series machines in packaging, printing, food processing, wood and textile machinery, intralogistics or medical equipment
Modular machine platforms, where different performance and options are mapped via coordinated drive variants
Successor solutions for discontinued drives – 1:1 replacements with modern SPAT technology behind an unchanged nameplate
System solutions for complete axes or functional modules, where drive, electronics and software come from a single source
Industry- or customer-specific variants that are not available in the standard catalogue of classical motor suppliers

FAQ – OEM & private label drive systems

By OEM drive systems we mean customer-specific configured drives based on the SPAT MDS platform that go to market under the name and part number of our customer. This includes adapted mechanics and electrics as well as nameplates, documentation and test reports in the customer’s layout.

Depending on the project, we can adapt flanges, shafts, connectors, cable lengths, voltage ranges, protection classes, encoder resolutions and software parameters. In addition, we can align nameplates, device designations, part numbers and packaging with your internal system.

Yes. In many cases we develop 1:1 replacement solutions for discontinued drives based on the SPAT MDS platform – with identical or compatible mechanics and electrical interfaces. The goal is that your machines can continue to run without changes to hardware or software, while you benefit from modern technology and long-term availability.

Typically, we start with a joint requirements analysis (application, load profile, installation situation, interfaces, volumes). Based on this, we select suitable components from the SPAT MDS platform and define the necessary adaptations. This is followed by samples and tests in your machine. After successful validation, the solution is released for series production and integrated into your processes (BOMs, material master data, test plans).

Our focus is on series applications with recurring demand. Whether a project is economically reasonable depends on the combination of technical complexity, degree of customisation and annual volumes. We are happy to discuss in each individual case whether a full OEM solution or a slightly modified standard variant is the better choice.

We treat OEM projects as confidential by default. On request, we conclude non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and clearly define which information and product designations may be used in which form. Outwardly, your drives appear under your name; SPAT® remains the developing and manufacturing partner in the background.
